68Network She I Autumn/Winter 2012When listening to marketing seminars and reading through the many methods to market your business, it's easy to get bamboozled by it all. However networking, exhibiting at events or simply arranging to go for a coffee with someone; are all ways of face to face marketing which still need to be an important part of your marketing strategy. I run Social Space and host the SME Business Show, a show which is aimed at local companies. These shows have seminars, networking sessions and an exhibition area primarily to support the growth and networking of local SME's.To find out more about Nikki and the SME Business Show go to www.networkshe.co.ukFace2Facewith Nikki BolshawElim PeugeotBryn Cefni Park Industrial Estate, Llangefni tel: 01248 750251 . www.elimpeugeot.co.uk

www.networkshe.com69At Company Vehicle Solutions, Ann Baker has been helping businesses and individuals to get the most out of their motoring budget for over 13 years. Ann was working for a daily car rental company up North when she decided to set up her own vehicle leasing business. "My boss was an inspiration, 'cos I remember thinking if he can do it...I'm damn sure I can! There were lots of things that I felt could be improved so I decided to have a go myself!" So with a clear idea of what not to do, and a pretty good idea of how things should be, Ann decided to set up her own business. Company Vehicle Solutions was started in 1999, and Ann's mission was to find the ideal vehicle solution for every customer. In 2007 she relocated herself & Company Vehicle Solutions from Leeds to a smallholding in Llandudno. She is enjoying the rural life, & has been having great fun growing veg, raising chickens, long walks with her dog, but of course the cat is the real boss! Ann may be living a more relaxed lifestyle, but her passion for helping her customers is as fired up as ever. Customers reasons for buying cars are all different, and this is something that Ann appreciates and tries to accommodate drawing on her knowledge of the car industry. "Some customers contact me, they have a budget to spend, give me a few clues about what they want & leave me to sort out the best deal. I often joke that I do contract hire and clairvoyance!" Car sales is undoubtedly a male dominated industry, but Ann has never found this a disadvantage. "In some ways, you have to know twice as much to be thought half as good, but this is not a problem - remember, Ginger Rodgers did everything that Fred Astaire did but backwards and in high heels!" RIGHT ANN for the jobBeing a woman selling cars in a male dominated industry is the reason why Ann Baker feels she can stay ahead of the game Ginger Rodgers did everything that Fred Astaire did but backwards and in high heels
