Ann was working for a daily car rental company up North when she decided to set up her own vehicle leasing business. "My boss was an inspiration, 'cos I remember thinking if he can do it...I'm damn sure I can! There were lots of things that I felt could be improved so I decided to have a go myself!" So with a clear idea of what not to do, and a pretty good idea of how things should be, Ann decided to set up her own business. Company Vehicle Solutions was started in 1999, and Ann's mission was to find the ideal vehicle solution for every customer. In 2007 she relocated herself & Company Vehicle Solutions from Leeds to a smallholding in Llandudno. She is enjoying the rural life, & has been having great fun growing veg, raising chickens, long walks with her dog, but of course the cat is the real boss! Ann may be living a more relaxed lifestyle, but her passion for helping her customers is as fired up as ever. Customers reasons for buying cars are all different, and this is something that Ann appreciates and tries to accommodate drawing on her knowledge of the car industry. "Some customers contact me, they have a budget to spend, give me a few clues about what they want & leave me to sort out the best deal. I often joke that I do contract hire and clairvoyance!" Car sales is undoubtedly a male dominated industry, but Ann has never found this a disadvantage. "In some ways, you have to know twice as much to be thought half as good, but this is not a problem - remember, Ginger Rodgers did everything that Fred Astaire did but backwards and in high heels!"
