40Network She I Autumn/Winter 2012Business Point was established in 2006 to provide local businesses with one main point of contact when dealing with the College. Business Point operates across North West and Central Wales, working with both new and established businesses in the private and public sectors. Our aim is to support businesses wishing to train and develop their employees by offering training advice and support, accessible and flexible training options, and appropriate funding packages. We offer training at all levels, from basic skills to professional development courses and one day courses to longer tailored training packages.We can also provide a range of delivery options, including on or off-the-job training at your own premises or at either of our Business Point locations in Dolgellau or St Asaph. Both our dedicated employer bases have training suites and IT rooms, free car parking and access to video conferencing facilities. Rooms are also available to hire at competitive prices. We will be able to identify whether funding is available to your business. Currently, the College itself can offer direct assistance through the following European Social Fund (ESF) projects: Dyfodol This partnership project is available until Feb 2014 and is designed to provide private sector businesses in Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd with a range of subsidised, sector specific training and development at levels 1-3. In addition, as part of the project, we can offer information and advice on Equality & Diversity.Jobs Growth WalesAre you an employer who could create an additional job within your company for an unemployed young person aged between 16-24 years old for six months? The Welsh Government (WG), with the support of the ESF will reimburse your business for the equivalent of the National Minimum Wage plus NI for 26 weeks. Employer eligibility:. Work 25-40 hours per week Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP)KTP is a UK wide programme enabling businesses to improve their competitiveness, productivity and performance. This is achieved through the forming of a Partnership between you and your business and an academic institution, enabling you to access skills and expertise to help your business. KTPs are part funded by a WG grant Anyone over school leaving age can embark upon an Apprenticeship Training Programme. The WG pays for the external training, so it's completely free to the employer. Apprentices work and learn the way an employers need them to, but also bring fresh up to date skills through their training provider. Short Courses and Seminars Courses are designed to be flexible and can be delivered at our Business Point venues or on company premises. For some businesses the opportunity for staff to meet and learn from other businesses is an added bonus, whilst for others, minimising disruption and travel is a major factor. Whichever option you choose, your staff will benefit from workshops and seminars designed to meet legislative requirements as well as updating and developing their skills and knowledge.
